THE PHYSICS OF CIRCULAR MOTION

When an object travels in a circular path, it is constantly changing direction. This requires a force acting in the direction of of the circle, known as centripetal force. Without this force, the object would persist its straight-line motion according to Newton's first law of motion. Centripetal force can be supplied by various mechanisms, such as
